Goal: Graduates will have the knowledge and skills to work in the construction industry as operators of heavy equipment such as dozers, end loaders, excavators, back-hoe, and drill rig.
Program Length: Five (5) weeks/ 200 hours. 12 college credit hours.
Program Description: The Heavy Equipment Career Studies Certificate is designed to prepare students for entry level positions as Heavy Equipment Operators with various constructions companies throughout the region. A major portion of the program will be instruction in the heavy equipment operation with additional courses taught in blueprint reading for heavy construction and industrial safety concepts.

Job Placement: Large numbers of companies are in need of equipment operators. The field is in high demand due to the restrictions on companies for competent employees.
Occupation Pay Scale: Construction, Equipment Operators, or Drill Operators $1,800 - $3,600 monthly.
Schedule: Classes start on the first Monday of each month.
Admission Requirements: Applicants must be 18 years or older prior to the first day of class, in sound physical health and meet the general admission requirements established by SVCC.
Financial Aid: Depends on locality of residence and household income.
